Handbridge Bindery, Inc. specializes in high quality hand restoration and conservation bookbinding. Hawaiian-born owner Glenn Fukunaga has been a professional in the field for over fifteen years and in 1991 opened Handbridge Bindery overlooking beautiful downtown Austin, Texas.
With a highly-trained staff whose knowledge of books and the materials used, combined with the skills of craftsmen binders like Raoul Bollin who trained in his native Switzerland, Handbridge Bindery is able to offer a wide range of services including restoration of books as well as preservation and presentation of valuable papers, important documents and rare maps. We also specialize in fine and custom designed bindings.
Our commitment to the traditional methods and standards of the art of bookbinding along with meticulous craftsmanship has secured Handbridge Bindery a respectful reputation among astute collectors, booksellers and institutions across the country. To assure our customers of the safety of their books we keep all valuable items in fireproof cabinets. Handbridge Bindery is a member of the Guild of BookWorkers, the Lone Star Chapter of the Guild of BookWorkers, and Austin BookWorkers.
